Jacqui is originally from Brevard, North Carolina.  She received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University, where she met her husband of over 40 years.  They have three adult children and two dogs, and currently reside in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Jacqui recently retired from Eastman after 30 years of service.

Jacqui began studying art in Columbia, South Carolina, with Michel McNinch, focusing on pastel portraits, and then watercolor with Anne Hightower Patterson.  She became interested in the expressive freedom of abstract painting in a Mary Todd Beam workshop in Kingsport.  She completed the Art2Life Creative Visionary Program in 2021 and is a member of the Art2Life Academy.

Jacqui currently works in oil, oil and cold wax, acrylic, and mixed media.  She paints both realism and abstract.

The subject matter for her realistic paintings is wide-ranging and often includes figures.  She is inspired by the beauty of the ordinary.  Most of her realistic paintings are studio paintings painted from photographs.  She also enjoys painting en plein air.

Jacqui’s artwork has received awards from the South Carolina State Fair, South Carolina Watercolor Society, Kingsport Art Guild Member Show, Appalachian Art Show, and Paint Kingsport!
